Teaching through Art History- Oct. 2nd

I truly enjoyed the Art History presentation last Tuesday. During the presentation the guest speaker had us act out a painting, and I thought this was such a great idea to integrate visual arts and drama (something I had never considered before)

I think integration is Key when developing lessons (if possible) and having students act out a sense in a painting by creating dialogue, etc. is an excellent way to integrate the Arts!

Art Ideas

I, like many of you are searching for ideas on teaching the Arts in the practicum. I have come across a few websites that I thought you may want to have a look at!

Sherry, I found a lesson on creating Eqyptian Fan it is the the Blick Art Lessons Website.
The Blick Art Website is an great site because it gives you the actual images of the created art work.

Enjoy

Scrapbooking

When I am not busy with school work I love to scrapbook my pictures! I feel that pictures are just too precious to be thrown into shoe boxes and never to be looked at again! Here are 2 examples of pages I did this summer.
Websites for scrapbooking:

B.C. Binning

Today's visit to the Two Rivers Art Gallery was very educational. While touring B.C. Binning's art work I learned a lot about abstract art. The painting that sticks out in my mind the most is the Maquette painting where Binning painted the many industries BC has. I thought it was neat how he showed the diversity of BC's industry in 'somewhat' small painting.
My favourite part of the field trip however, was the abstract drawings that we created. It was so fun drawing to the different music and it was neat to see how your draw strokes changed depending on the music. Hopefully, I will be able to do this art activity in my practicum, I think the students would love it!
Thanks Amber for showing me the spaghetti art, I think that would be a fun lesson for Halloween!
